The new study universe at the CBS Campus – formerly home of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory in Frederiksberg – is the result of Henning Larsen Architects winning 1st prize in an invited competition.

The assignment comprises a conversion of the old raw material storage building, in which the ground floor will be elaborated to a sculptural landscape with a café, social space and open study spaces.

The main concept of the project is to create zones for communication and zones for studying. Sculptural sitting stairs start the ascent through the tall panopticon, up past the various departments.

By means of the centrally situated main stairs, a connecting space up through all the f loors is created – promoting visual links to and between the functions on the individual f loors. A coherent info disc runs up through the f loors, visible from all common spaces.
